CODEN: JKXXAF. CLASS: IC: C12D013-06. APPLICATION: JP 75-48440 21 Apr 1975. DOCUMENT TYPE: Patent CA Section: 16 (Fermentations) Cysteine [52-90-4] was produced by reaction of .beta.-substituted L-alanine and (NH4)2S [12135-76-1], (NH4)2Sx, or (NH4)HS in the presence of cysteine desulfhydrase [9012-96-8]. Thus, cells of Enterobacter aerogenes IFO 3320, which were cultured on a medium contg. L-cysteine 0.2, yeast ext. 0.5, meat ext. 0.5, polypeptone 0.5, glycerol 0.1, CaCl2 0.2, and NaCl 0.2% were added to 0.1 M ammonium buffer (pH 9.5) contg. .beta.-chloro-L-alanine [2731-73-9] 5 mM, (NH4)2S or (NH4)2Sx (S content = 5%) 0.5 mM, Na laurylsulfate 0.05%, and pyridoxal phosphate 0.1 mM. The mixt. was reacted at 30.degree. for 3 h. Prodn. of L-cysteine was 0.54 and 0.47 mM from (NH4)2S and (NH4)2Sx, resp.
- Ultra-high viscosity wood pulp
- Ultra-high viscosity wood pulp. Fleming, B. I.; Reid, A. R. (Pulp Pap. Res. Inst. Canada, Pointe Claire, PQ H9R 3J9, Can.). Cellul. Chem. Technol., 17(4), 371-8 (English) 1983. CODEN: CECTAH. ISSN: 0576-9787. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 43 (Cellulose, Lignin, Paper, and Other Wood Products) Three-stage cooking of sprucewood chips with NH4 polysulfide (I) at 170° gave pulp with 14-15 dL/g intrinsic viscosity (IV), and respectable kraft pulp IV (12.5-13 dL/g) could be obtained at low lignin contents by pulping aspenwood of the lowest effective alkali (EA) levels (10.5-12.3%); the limiting factor was the screen rejects level, which rose dramatically when the EA level was reduced below 11.4%. The I pulping of aspenwood using a low alkali charge in the 3d stage provided pulps with IV 15.5-16.In this experiment, several chemicals are used like 12135-76-1 and 9080-17-5 5 dL/y at Kappa no. 14-22. The I process was simplified to a 2-stage (NH4)2S process and gave the same IV for aspenwood pulp. .
