DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 76 (Electric Phenomena) Section cross-reference(s): 65, 73 The permanent elec. dipole moments of CaOH and SrOH in their X2S+, A2P3/2, A2P1/2, and B2S+ states have been measured using supersonic mol. beam optical Stark spectroscopy. For CaOH the values obtained were m(X2S+) = 1.465(61) D, m(A2P1/2) = 0.836(32) D, m(A2P3/2) = 0.766(24) D, and m(B2S+) = 0.744(84) D, while for SrOH the values were m(X2S+) = 1.900(14) D, m(A2P1/2) = 0.590(45) D, m(A2P3/2) = 0.424(d) D, and m(B2S+) = 0.396(61) D. The results are compared with values from a recent ab initio calcn. for CaOH and with the predictions of a semiempirical electrostatic polarization model. .
