DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 5 (Agrochemicals) Flurenol-methyl (I) [1216-44-0], chloroflurenol-methyl [2536-31-4], and dichloroflurenol-methyl [21634-96-8] in emulsifiable concs. and technical grade material were sepd. and identified by thin layer (TLC), high pressure liq. (HPLC), and gas-liq. chromatog. (GLC). TLC results were unsatisfactory because of interferences and also variations in the quant. of the active ingredients. HPLC and GLC gave satisfactory results. Both Porasil C400 and Corasil II HPLC columns using CHCl3-hexane (5:95 or 7:93) solvent gave good resoln. , with UV detection at 254 nm. Std. curves had correlation coeffs. of 0.990 or better. Detn. by GLC was quant. with flame ionization detection and a 5% DC-200 column on 100-120 mesh Gas Chrom Q. The carrier gas was N. Response was linear from 200 ng to 2 .mu.g and the coeff. of variation was 2.4%. The mass spectral anal. of the formulated product is also discussed.
