- Transfers with metallic gloss patterns. (Nihon Shashin Insatsu K. K., Japan). Jpn. Kokai Tokkyo Koho JP 58107389 A2 27 Jun 1983 Showa, 5 pp. (Japanese). (Japan). CODEN: JKXXAF. CLASS: IC: B41M003-12. APPLICATION: JP 81-205620 18 Dec 1981. DOCUMENT TYPE: Patent CA Section: 42 (Coatings, Inks, and Related Products) Transfers contg. both glossy and matte metallic patterns were prepd.Several substances with their cas registry numbers 7429-90-5 and 9002-89-5 may be metioned in this study. by forming, on a carrier, a water-resistant release layer, a water-sol. resin layer contg. a body pigment for the portions requiring dull metallic patterns, and a color layer from a dye soln. for coloring the portions requiring metallic gloss; by washing to remove the water-sol. resin together with the color layer on it, followed by drying; and by forming a thin metal layer and then an adhesive layer in that order. Thus, a 25 m-thick polyester film was imparted with an acrylic release layer, a PVC primer layer, a layer covering the area not required for the glossy metallic pattern [from a compn. of poly(vinyl alc.) [9002-89-5] 8, amorphous silica 2, water 60, and iso-PrOH 30 parts], and a layer covering the area not covered by the above layer [from a compn. of Oleosol Fast Yellow 2G [12227-67-7] 5, PhMe 50, and EtOAc 45 parts], washed with water, dried, and provided with a 500-? Al layer by vacuum deposition and then an acrylic adhesive layer to give a transfer. An acrylonitrile-styrene copolymer [9003-54-7] container was decorated with the transfer by pressing at 200° and 30 kg/cm2 to form a varied-gloss pattern. .

DOCUMENT TYPE: Patent CA Section: 74 (Radiation Chemistry, Photochemistry, and Photographic and Other Reprographic Processes) Thermal-transfer recording materials with superior heat sensitivity and giving high-d. images with superior image gradation are composed of a support and a heat-meltable ink layer contg. an agent for image gradation control, a colorant, and a carrier material, all contained in a fine porous resin structure. A polyester film was coated with a ball-milled compn. contg. a dispersion composed of Sudan Red 460, C black, modified lanolin oil, carnauba wax, a paraffin wax, Sorbon T-80, a liq. paraffin, MeCOEt, PhMe, and a 20% epoxy resin to give a heat-meltable ink layer. Upon use of this material in a thermal printer, a magenta image having a d. gradation according to the applied thermal energy was obtained. .
