Reactive Red 31 [12237-00-2], C.I. Reactive Orange 13 [70616-89-6], and C.I. Reactive Blue 5 [16823-51-1] on cellophane or Na zincate-treated cellophane dyed from water, water-acetone (I), formamide-I, and DMSO-I mediums. The extent of aggregation was in the order: water >water-I >formamide-I 3DMSO-I. The lightfastness of dyes as indicated by characteristic fading curves also follow the above order. The dyeings on sodium zincate-treated cellophane showed higher lightfastness due to better dye penetration due to elimination of skin structure.

DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 40 (Textiles and Fibers) The feasibility of fixation of sulfatoethylsulfonyl, monochlorotriazinyl, and dichlorotriazinyl reactive dyes on silk by the title method was studied. High levels of fixation were achieved with Remazol and Procion M dyes and the prints showed very good light and wash fastness. A high fixation ratio for each of 9 dyes indicated that most of the dye present after soaping was covalently reacted with the fiber. There was no significant loss of strength of silk printed with Remazol and Procion H dyes, but Procion M dyes had a strength loss of ~20%. .
