Thus, a soln. of 67.5 parts poly(vinylpyrrolidine) [9003-43-4] in 400 parts H2O was prepd. at 90°, mixed with 0.05 parts 1:1 (molar) KI-I adduct [12298-68-9], heated 3 h at 70°, mixed with a diether of 1 mol HOCH2CH2OH and 2 mols N-methylolacrylamide 30, N-hydroxy-N-nitrosocyclohexamine 0.1, and a-methylolbenzoin Me ether 2.5 parts, filtered, and degassed. This photopolymerizable compn was unchanged after 70 h at 80° in the dark, but a similar compn. contg. no KI-I adduct solidified during 6 h.
