Similar results were obtained with some reinforced halogenated polyesters which are known to produce large qunatities of smoke when burning. When PVC treated with Mo compds. and Sb oxides are burned, all of the Mo remains in the char formed, whereas >90% of the Sb volatilizes, indicating different mechanisms of fire retardancy.

It was found that the main characteristic of Raman spectral pattern of the satd. soln. was described as the same "double-peaks, a weak peak at the boundary" as some literature, but chem. components of the satd. soln. were affirmed to be octamolybdate ion (Mo8O264-) and double protonated heptamolybdate ion (H2Mo7O244-), which were in equil. in aq. soln. each other. The authors propose that the pattern of the satd. soln. can be regarded as the std. pattern of primiparous octamolybdate ion during acidified molybdate soln. It is satisfying that the std. pattern is applied to the identification of primiparous octamolybdate ion during acidified molybdate soln. .
