DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 37 (Plastics Manufacture and Processing) NMR measurements showed that didecyl Ph phosphite [1254-78-0], used as a thermal co-stabilizer, is not completely dissolved in rigid PVC [9002-86-2]. DSC measurements however, show a marked effect on the glass transition temp. of PVC, which implies that the co-stabilizer is dissolved to some degree in the PVC phase. Although this effect on the glass transition temp. proceeds continuously with the added amt. of the co-stabilizer, DSC measurements alone cannot give a full description of the soly. conditions. Nor can the effects obsd. by DSC be used to give criteria for a complete soly.
