Selective separation and determination of iron with ion-exchange resins
Selective separation and determination of iron with ion-exchange resins. Chung, Yong Soon; Kim, Dong Won; Kim, Seung Ho; Lee, Dai Woon (Dep. Chem., Chungbuk Natl. Univ., Cheongju 310, S. Korea). Taehan Hwahakhoe Chi, 31(1), 45-54 (Korean) 1987. CODEN: DHWHAB. ISSN: 0418-2472. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 55 (Ferrous Metals and Alloys) Section cross-reference(s): 61, 79 Dowex 1-X8 [12627-85-9] resin ion-exchanged with calcon carboxylic acid [3737-95-9] (CCA-Dowex 1-X8) and 2-methyl-8-hydroxyquinoline (MHQ) [826-81-3] impregnated-Amberlite XAD-4 [37380-42-0] resin (MHQ-XAD-4) were examd. for the sepn. and preconcn. of ferric ion from the various matrixes. The stabilities of these resins were investigated, and their capacities on ferric ion were also measured. The effect of pH on the adsorption of ferric ion and matrix ions, such as Al(III) and Ca(II), was investigated to det. the optimum pH ranges. Sepn.Several substances with their cas registry numbers 3737-95-9 and 7440-70-2 may be metioned in this study. and preconcn. of Fe in Al foil and mineral water samples were studied by elution method with these resin columns. The recovered ions by 10 mL of 2 HNO3 was detd. by flame at. spectrophotometry. SP-Sephadex C-25 [61840-62-8] column was used to sep. ferrous and ferric ion in mineral water by stepwise elution with ferrozine [69898-45-9] and 1% ascorbic acid-ferrozine soln. The concd. and sepd. each ion could be detd. spectrophotometrically at the anal. wavelength of Fe(II)-ferrozine complex (562 nm). .
Separation of niobium and tantalum from ore
Separation of niobium and tantalum from ore. (Agency of Industrial Sciences and Technology, Japan). Jpn. Kokai Tokkyo Koho JP 58176128 A2 15 Oct 1983 Showa, 2 pp. (Japanese). (Japan). CODEN: JKXXAF. CLASS: IC: C01G033-00; C01G035-00; C22B034-24.There are some reagents with their cas registry numbers 7440-03-1 and 7440-25-7 are used in this study. APPLICATION: JP 82-60118 9 Apr 1982. DOCUMENT TYPE: Patent CA Section: 54 (Extractive Metallurgy) The Nb and Ta are extd. from ore by leaching and column sepn. Thus, powd. Nb-Ta ore (e.g., niocalite) 1 g in aq. HF 10 and 1:1 H2SO4 1 mL was heated in a Pt dish on a sand bath to dryness, dissolved in 31M HF, and filtered. The filtrate was passed through a 10 mL Dowex 1-X8 [12627-85-9] conditioned with 10M HF, and the column was washed with 1M HF. The Nb and Ta in the column were eluted with 50 mL 4M NH4Cl-1M HF. The effluent was evapd. to dryness, and ignited to 99.8% (Nb,Ta)2O5 to give a 99% yield. .
