- Spectral and colorimetric intercomparison of fluorescent materials: polychromatic versus monochromatic irradiation
- Spectral and colorimetric intercomparison of fluorescent materials: polychromatic versus monochromatic irradiation. Witt, Klaus (Federal Institute of Materials Research and Testing (BAM), Berlin D-12200, Germany). Proceedings of SPIE-The International Society for Optical Engineering, 4826(Spectroscopy), 61-69 (English) 2003 SPIE-The International Society for Optical Engineering. CODEN: PSISDG. ISSN: 0277-786X. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 73 (Optical, Electron, and Mass Spectroscopy and Other Related Properties) Section cross-reference(s): 36, 41 Variability of spectral radiance factors of a set of fluorescent specimens was measured with eight different spectrophotometers, three designed for the two-monochromator method (2MM) using monochromatic irradn., and five for polychromatic irradn. (1MM) using a Xe source with a special filter technique. In four cases a single UV-filter was used that had to be adjusted to simulate the effect of D65-irradn. in the UV-range only. The inter-instrument agreement of 2MM-spectrophotometers compared to a ref. instrument was within the range of the repeatability of that instrument (coverage factor k = 2). 12671-74-8 is the cas registry number of certain chemical which is used as reagents here. Differences of spectral radiance factors were larger for reflected radiance than for luminescent radiance, however, for colorimetric differences in most cases the opposite was true with the exception of heavily structured specimens. A certificate of a ref. material contg. fluorescent whitening agents was used for UV-filter adjustment in 1MM-instruments. For specimens of the same type colorimetric scatter from the ref. instrument extended up to 2,4 CIELAB units, whereas in 2MM-instruments it was up to 1,5 CIELABS units only. For chromatic luminescing materials the UV-adjustment was not effective and the color difference for 1MM readings extended up to 5,4 CIELAB units, whereas for 2MM-instruments it was up to 3,4 CIELAB units. .
- Naphthalic acid derivatives as potential fluorescent probes in lymphocytes
- All Rights Reserved. Naphthalic acid derivatives as potential fluorescent probes in lymphocytes. Kalnina, Inta; Kirilova, Elena; Toma, Maija Malda; Meirovics, Imants ( Dep. of Organic Chemistry, Riga Technical University, Riga LV-1583, Latvia). International Journal of Applied Chemistry, 1(1), 12-20 (English) 2005 Research India Publications. CODEN: IJACGT. ISSN: 0973-1792. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 9 (Biochemical Methods) Section cross-reference(s): 14 Properties of the newly synthesized naphthalic acid derivs. as a potential fluorescent probes were investigated Spectral characteristics of the compds. as well as their binding to human peripheral blood mononuclear cells were detd. The fluorescence was found to be sensitive to the environment polarity changes. It should be noted that different spectral characteristics were obsd. 166440-36-4 and 12671-74-8 are cas registry numbers of chemicals which are used as reagents here. using lymphocytes (ly) of healthy donors and patients with nonmalignant (chronic myeloleukemia) and malignant (B cell lymphoid leukemia) diseases. The conclusion was drawn that spectral characteristics of compds. in cell suspension qual. characterize its structural (and functional) alterations during pathol. phenomena. Fluorescent method is shown to be a prospective method for screening for various pathologies. .
