- The gef gene from Escherichia coli is regulated at the level of translation. Poulsen, L. K.; Refn, A.; Molin, S.; Andersson, P. (Genet. Eng. Group, Tech. Univ. Denmark, Lyngby DK-2800, Den.). Mol. Microbiol., 5(7), 1639-48 (English) 1991. CODEN: MOMIEE. ISSN: 0950-382X. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 3 (Biochemical Genetics) Section cross-reference(s): 6 This report describes post-transcriptional regulation of the chromosomal gene, gef, from E. coli. The gef gene is a member of a gene family consisting of the chromosomal gef and relF genes from E. coli and the hok, flmA, srnB, and pndA genes, which are situated on conjugative plasmids. All the genes encode small, toxic proteins of approx. 128280-09-1 and 128280-37-5 which are cas registry numbers of substances are two of reagents here. 50 amino acids which are functionally and structurally homologous. Furthermore, the gene family shares post-transcriptional regulation of expression, albeit by different mechanisms. Translation of gef is coupled to an upstream open reading frame which, in turn, is regulated by a trans-acting factor, probably an antisense RNA. Sequence of gene gef is reported. .
