The Tmse group can be removed selectively by F-. Thus, pteroic acid IV (R1 = OH) was condensed with Me3Si-Glu(OSiMe3)-OCH2Ph to give IV (R1 = Glu-OCH2Ph), which was coupled with Boc-Lys(SiMe3)-OSiMe3 to give folate analog V. V was coupled with II to give I (R = Tmse, n = 1), which was Tmse-deblocked and then coupled with II to give I (R = Tmse, n = 2) (VI). VI was also prepd. by coupling V with III. VI was Tmse-deblocked by KF/Bu4N+Cl- in DMF to give 62% I (R = H, n = 2). II and III were prepd. in high yield. .

Its caprylyl deriv. 13030-09-6 which is the cas registry number of one of substances is just one of reagents here. and stearoyl deriv. were capable of increasing resistance to bacterial infection as efficiently as FK-156. Moreover, the stearoyl deriv. of I showed a potent tumor-suppressive activity lacking in FK-156. .
