Cooling, multiple filtration and washing as above, and distn. at 185°/44 mm in the presence of 0.4% Na2CO3 and 0.3% (Ph0)3P [101-02-0] gave 80% I with purity 99. 7664-38-2 and 1309-64-4 are also in the experiment.8-99.9%, m.p. 140.58-140.60°, acid no. 0.06-0.1 mg KOH/g, and Hazen color 10 UH. .
