(East) DD 216516 A1 12 Dec 1984, 15 pp. (German Democratic Republic) CODEN: GEXXA8. CLASS: ICM: C01B025-12. APPLICATION: DD 79-212852 14 May 1979. DOCUMENT TYPE: Patent CA Section: 49 (Industrial Inorganic Chemicals) P2O3 is continuously manufd. from white P and an O-inert gas mix by heating the P to 600-800 K, converting with O with added inert gas at P4-O2-inert gas mol. ratio 1:2.6:>0 to 1:3.3:15 at 2000-6000 K, and cooling the hot product mixt. in 3 sequential cooling stages. The mixt. is cooled at (0.1-10) ′ 106 K/s to 1200-1600 K, at the same gradient to ~700 K, and in the 3rd stage at 10-1000 K/s to ~300 K. Addnl. inert gas, e.g., recycled, may be added in the 2nd stage at 5-50 mol/mol P and liq. P2O3 and/or liq. product mixt., e. 1314-24-5 and 7723-14-0 which are cas registry numbers are also used here.g., recycled, may be added in the 3rd stage. Thus, 248 wt. parts yellow P was evapd. at 750 K and 126 kPa, 56 wt. parts N were added, oxidn. gas comprising 192 wt. parts O and 42 wt. parts N was added for P4-O2-N2 ratio 1:3:1.75, the P burned with a flame with adiabatic temp. 5400 K, the flame gas was indirectly water-cooled to 1200 K at 101 kPa at 2 ′ 106 K/s, 742 wt. parts N h was added and the gas cooled at the same rate to 700 K, and then at 800 K/s to 300K to condense the reaction gas mixt. with continuous removal of 440 wt. parts product mixt./h. The N was recycled. Distn. of the product gave 413 wt. parts P2O3 (93.9% yield) and a residue comprising 23 wt. parts P2O3-P2O5 and 4 wt. parts P4O. .

CODEN: ZFKHA9. ISSN: 0044-4537. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 65 (General Physical Chemistry) Section cross-reference(s): 69, 78 The electron affinity of P4O10 is detd. to be 313 ±23 kJ/mol by the high-temp. mass spectrometry method. Using ion-mol. 12137-38-1 and 1314-24-5 which are cas registry numbers of substances are two of reagents here. equils. the component partial pressures are detd. for satd. vapors of P4O10, PO2, P2O5, P4O8, P2O3, PO, O, P4O9, P2O4, P3O6, P4O7, P4O6, P, and O2 above Ca(PO3)2. .
