The Cresol, with the CAS registry number 1319-77-3, is also known as Cresol (mixed isomers). This chemical's molecular formula is C₇H₈O and molecular weight is 108.14.Its EINECS number is 215-293-2. What's more,Its systematic name is Cresol. It is the distillate of coal tar produced by the high temperature carbonization of bituminous coal. It consists primarily of aromatic hydrocarbons, tar acids and tar bases.It is Colorless to yellow liquids with a tarry odor,Insoluble in water.Stable. Combustible. Incompatible with strong oxidizing agents. Cresol are organic compounds that are methylphenols. They are a widely occurring natural and manufactured group of aromatic organic compounds which are categorized as phenols (sometimes called phenolics). Depending on the temperature, Cresol can be solid or liquid because they have melting points not far from room temperature.
