- Comparison of guinea pig sensitization methods
- Comparison of guinea pig sensitization methods. Fahr, H.; Noster, U.; Schulz, K. H. (Dep. Dermatol., Univ. Hosp., Hamburg, Ger.). Contact Dermatitis, 2(6), 335-9 (English) 1976. CODEN: CODEDG. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 15 (Immunochemistry) Up to now, different methods in guinea pig sensitization were used; in order to compare the efficiency of the epicutaneous, intradermal and combined sensitization methods for assessing contact sensitization potential of low mol. wt. chemicals, two strong sensitizers, the water sol. chlormethylimidazoline hydrochloride (CMI) and the lipid sol. 1,3-dinitrochlorobenzene (DNCB) were used. Eleven modified sensitization methods were performed. In the 1st trial each substance was tested on 10 animals. 13338-49-3 and 97-00-7 are also in the experiment. In a furter study those techniques which had produced the best results, that is the highest degree of sensitization, were applied to 25-30 animals. For comparison of the results, a mean sensitization index was calcd. The best results were achieved with the Maximization Test of B. Magnusson and A. M. Kligman (1969) and the Split Adjuvant Technique of H. C. Maguire and M. W. Chase (1967). .
