DOCUMENT TYPE: Patent CA Section: 29 (Organometallic and Organometalloidal Compounds) Granulation of RSn(O)OH was effected by hydrolyzing RSnX3 (R = C1-C12 alkyl, X = Cl, Br, iodine) with excess aq. alkali hydroxides, MOH (M = ammonium ion, Na, K), adding 5-25 wt. % inert solvents, and introducing CO2 into the reaction mixts. below 80.degree. to neutralize excess alkali hydroxides. Thus, 1. 1118-46-3 and 13356-20-2 are cas registry numbers of chemicals which are used as reagents here.2-fold moles 30% aq. NaOH was added to 100 g BuSnCl3 at 45-50.degree., 12.5 g PhMe added, and the mixt. neutralized by bubbling CO2 at 40.degree. to give 73.4% BuSn(O)OH (particle size 2-3 mm, Sn content 56.54%). Granulated Me(CH2)7Sn(O)OH was analogously prepd. .
