APPLICATION: CS 80-222 10 Jan 1980. DOCUMENT TYPE: Patent CA Section: 45 (Industrial Organic Chemicals, Leather, Fats, and Waxes) Section cross-reference(s): 51, 67 Catalysts having a formula mSiO2:nAl2O3:pQO:sDM (m = 2.01-3.97; n = 0.02-2.96: p = 0.03-3.50; s = 0.03-1.00; QO is Cu, Be, Zn, Ni, or Co oxides or their mixts.; D = OH-, F-, or O2-; M = H+, NH4+, or alkali metal or alk. earth metal cation), which are useful for cracking, alkylation, dealkylation, disproportionation, and isomerization of hydrocarbons, are prepd. by hydrothermal synthesis from an aq. suspension contg. silica and alumina gels, catalytically active metal salts, NH+, and F-. Thus, a suspension of 135 g silica hydrosol and 30.2 g AlCl3×6 H2O in demineralized water was gradually adjusted with aq. NH4OH to pH 10. The sepd. gel was washed, treated consecutively with aq solns. of 77.8 g (AcO)2Ni×4 H2O, 2.04 g NH4F, dil. NH4OH, and autoclaved for 72 h at 250°. The product was filtered from mother liquors, washed with 10% aq. NH4OH, dried at 120°, and calcined for 5 h at 500°. 1304-56-9 and 1344-70-3 which are cas registry numbers of substances are two of reagents here. In disproportionation of PhMe [1336-21-6] to C6H6 and xylenes at 500°, the prepd. catalyst gave 49.9% conversion of PhMe and 94.22% selectivity vs. 45.34% conversion obtained with a com. zeolite-Y type cracking catalyst. .

DOCUMENT TYPE: Patent CA Section: 5 (Agrochemicals) A compn. for promoting the flowering of mango trees is a 2-phase equil. system consisting of (% by wt.): 7-15 Ca(OH)2 [1305-62-0] and CaCO3 [471-34-1], 0.06-0.08 KOH [1310-58-3], 0.05-0.07 H3PO4 [7664-38-2], 15-25 HNO3 [7697-37-2], 0.0005-0.0007 NH4OH [1336-21-6], 0.001-0.006 MnSO4 [7785-87-7], 0.006-0.10 FeSO4 [7720-78-7], 0.00002-0.003 ZnSO4 [7733-02-0], 0.15-0.35 MgSO4 [7487-88-9], balance is H2O. In a test, 2900 mango trees were made to flower by 15 men spraying the trees with the above compn. dild. to 20-40 L and a pH 4-10 as compared to conventional smudging which would have required 415 men working for 14 days.
