DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 29 (Organometallic and Organometalloidal Compounds) LiCHRSiR12R3 (I; R = H, Me, Pr, CH2CMe3, Ph; R1 = R2 = Me) were acylated with CO at 15° and quenched with Me3SiCl to give 63-96% RCH:C(SiMe3)OSiMe3 contg. primarily or only the E-isomer. Similar acylation of I (R = H, Pr, CH2CMe3, Ph, CH2CH2CHMeEt; R, R1 = Me, Et) followed by treatment with H2O gave 66-94% RCH2COSiR12R2. At -78°, Me3SiCH2Li reacted with CO and Me3SiCl to give 33% Me3SiOC(SiMe3):C(SiMe3)OSiMe3 with E-Z ratio 1:1. .
