DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 74 (Radiation Chemistry, Photochemistry, and Photographic and Other Reprographic Processes) The g-ray induced decompn. of CsNO3, TlNO3, Mg(NO3)2.6H2O, Ca(NO3)2.4H2O, Hg(NO3)2, Hg(NO3)2.2H2O, Pb(NO3)2, and Al(NO3)3.9H2O was studied at an absorbed dose of ~5 Mrads. G(NO2-) was affected by the outer cation and depended mainly on its valency and ionic size. G(NO2-) for Hg(NO3)2.2H2O was always higher as compared to that for Hg(NO3)2 at various doses. Water of crystn. might provide extra factors to facilitate the decompn. of the hydrated nitrate compared to that for the anhyd. 13477-34-4 and 13446-18-9 which are cas registry numbers of substances are two of reagents here. salts. In most cases G(NO2-) decreased exponentially with dose, but in the cases of CsNO3, Mg(NO3)2.6H2O, and Al(NO3)3.9H2O it varied linearly. .

DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 75 (Crystallography and Liquid Crystals) Section cross-reference(s): 69 Adiabatic calorimetry measurements carried out with [Mg(H2O)6](NO3)2 showed 2 sp. heat anomalies one at 343 K and one at 363 K. The latter one corresponds to the melting of the substance. NMR measurements gave evidence of H2O 180°-flips around the Mg-O axes. Quasielastic neutron scattering measurements confirmed the NMR results. The correlation times as derived from NMR and QNS agreed. .
