Production of high specific activity iodine-131 by dry distillation and development of the production plant
Production of high specific activity iodine-131 by dry distillation and development of the production plant. Chuang, J. T.; Ke, C. H.; Lo, J. G.; Lo, J. M. (Nucl. Sci. Technol. Dev. Cent., Natl. Tsing Hua Univ., Hsinchu 300, Taiwan). Ho Tzu K'o Hsueh, 21(2), 56-60 (Chinese) 1984. CODEN: HTKHAB. ISSN: 0029-5647. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 71 (Nuclear Technology) The dry-distn. process was used for the prodn. of high specific activity of 131I [10043-66-0] from n irradiated TeO3 [13451-18-8]. To investigate the optimum conditions and set up the prodn. plant, the dependence of the process on the distn. temp., gas velocity, heating time, and the concn. of absorbing soln. was studied. The prodn. plant was set up and successfully applied to the routine prodn. of 131I.
Coordination of tellurium in oxide compounds
Coordination of tellurium in oxide compounds. Gutierrez Rios, Enrique (Spain). Rev. R. Acad. Cienc. Exactas, Fis. Nat. Madrid, 77(3), 621-30 (Spanish) 1983. CODEN: RCFNAT. ISSN: 0034-0596.Some commonly used reagents like 13451-18-8 and 13520-55-3 are used in this experiment. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 78 (Inorganic Chemicals and Reactions) Section cross-reference(s): 75 X-ray diffraction anal. and IR and NMR spectral methods were used to study TeO3 and its derivs. IR spectral comparison of H2TeO4 with H6TeO6 and TeO3 shows that H2TeO4 has the same Te-O bonds as TeO3, octahedral coordination is maintained, and free H2O mols. are included. TeO3 crystals are orthorhombic with a 6.287, b 4.938, and c 7.717 ?. A tridimensional cryst. lattice for H2TeO4 acid is concluded. It is similar to the TeO3 lattice with H2O mols. in its 12-coordination holes. The new lattice is more compact that that of TeO3. The most representative formula is TeO3.H2O. Na2TeO4, K2TeO4, K2TeO3, Na4Te2O7, and K4Te2O7 were previously prepd. by solid-state reactions of TeO3 and TeO3.H2O with M2O and M(OH) (M = Na, K) and characterized by their x-ray diffraction patterns. Their transformations and structures are discussed. This study shows the 6-coordination of Te(VI), both in H2TeO4 and in its salts, which are mixed oxides. This tendency of Te(VI) to be hexacoordinated in the presence of O contrasts with the behavior of both S and Se which in their oxoacids as well as in their salts are tetracoordinated. .
