DOCUMENT TYPE: Patent CA Section: 56 (Nonferrous Metals and Alloys) Section cross-reference(s): 76 Electroless Pt is deposited on SiO2-coated doped Si from an acid bath contg. 10-5-10-2 Pt4+ ions (as PtCl4, PtF, or H2PtCl6) and HF 10-2-1 mol/L, optionally with NH4Cl and/or NH4F to stabilize the pH. The coating is sintered at 400-600° to form an elec. contact between the Pt coating and Si substrate for solar cells, field-effect transistors, large-scale integrated circuits, and other semiconductors. The coating is economical because of the decrease in Pt waste. Thus, the Pt deposition rate on p- or n-doped Si substrates was 42 or 47 ?/min in a bath contg. 1.8 ′ 10-3 mol Pt4+/L and 0.5 mol HF/L, and was increased to 80 or 75, resp., by further addn. of 0.27 mol HF/L. The elec. resistance was 8-12 W/cm.Except for chemicals metioned above, 12125-01-8 and 13454-96-1 are also used. .

DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 79 (Inorganic Analytical Chemistry) Trace amts. of Au in the presence of an excess of Pt and Pd were detd. by at. absorption spectrometry with electrothermal atomization using different electrothermal atomization at. absorption spectrometry systems. Detection limits for the furnace atomizers used were evaluated: SP9 2.4 ′ 10-11, HGA-74 1.6 ′ 10-10, and GRM-1268 1.4 ′ 10-10 g. To reduce metal matrix interferences on the at. absorption signal of Au modification of the graphite tube, sample prepn. and sepn. of analyte from the matrix by an ion-exchange method were investigated. The best results were obtained, as far as precision is concerned, when ion-exchange sepn. prior to an at. absorption detn. of Au was used. The proposed method for the detn. of Au was adopted for its detn. in Pt powder and PtCl4. .
