DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 78 (Inorganic Chemicals and Reactions) Section cross-reference(s): 75 The controversial intermediate salt: Ni(NO3)2.5.5 H2O was studied. To prep. this phase, the authors have carried out, in the range 60-80°, a controlled evapn. of a soln. of Ni(NO3)2.6H2O resulting from the melting of a 100g Ni(NO3)2.6H2O batch sample in an isothermal pilot reactor. 13478-00-7 and 52956-42-0 are just another two chemicals used in this study. The proof of its existence is given, for the 1st time, by powder x-ray diffraction data. .

DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 52 (Electrochemical, Radiational, and Thermal Energy Technology) Section cross-reference(s): 69 The d. of molten Na salt hydrats which are suitable for energy storage applications was detd. using a modified Sprengel pycnometer. The variation of d.Several substances with their cas registry numbers 13478-00-7 and 10196-18-6 may be metioned in this study. as a function of temp. indicates a linear behavior. An empirical generalized correlation between reduced parameters of d. and temp. is reported. This correlation predicts the d. of salt hydrate melts of Na, Ca, Zn, Co, Ni, Cr, and Fe ions from the d. at the m.p., within an accuracy of ±0.5%, for temps. from the m.p. to ~40 K above the m.p. .
