The intermediates are sepd. from the primary dyes and are quantitated by using known stds. The intermediates naphthionic acid [84-86-6] and R-salt (2-naphthol-3,6-disulfonic acid, sodium salt) [135-51-3] were detd. in spiked samples of Amaranth [915-67-3] with recoveries of 98-102%. Similar results were obtained for sulfanilic acid [121-57-3] and Schaeffer's salt (2-naphthol-6-sulfonic acid, sodium salt) [135-76-2] in Sunset Yellow FCF [2783-94-0] and for sulfanilic acid and PyT (1-(4-sulfophenyl)-3-carboxy-5-hydroxypyrazolone) [118-47-8] in Tartrazine [1934-21-0] with recoveries of 96-105%. Spiking levels, in all cases, were in the range 0.05-1.There are some commonly used reagents with their cas registry numbers 135-51-3 and 1934-21-0 in this article.0% total intermediates.
