Ionic conductivity in poly(methyl vinyl ether) salt complexes applied to spacecraft charging
Ionic conductivity in poly(methyl vinyl ether) salt complexes applied to spacecraft charging. Leyden, R. N.; Giants, T. W.; Mueller, D. J.; Viswanathan, R. (Hughes Aircr. Co.Some commonly used reagents like 13529-74-3 and 14283-07-9 are used in this experiment., El Segundo, CA 90245, USA). Org. Coat. Appl. Polym. Sci. Proc., 48, 657-60 (English) 1983. CODEN: OCAPDE. ISSN: 0732-7528. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 76 (Electric Phenomena) The ionic cond. and glass transition temp. Tg were detd. for poly(Me vinyl ether) and its complexes with LiBF4, NaB(C6H5)4, ZnCl2, In(ClO4)3, and (C4H9)4NB4. At low salt concns., Tg is depressed with respect to the pure polymer except for NaB(C6H5)4; this is apparently due to the plasticizing effect of the salts. The cond. varies from 8 ′ 10-11 (W-cm)-1 for the (C4H9)4NBF4 salt to 1.3 ′ 10-7 (W-cm)-1 for the LiBF4 salt. The Zn and In cations have surprisingly similar conductivities to the alkali metals. .

Elektrokhim., Alma-Ata, USSR). Izv. Akad. Nauk Kaz. SSR, Ser. Khim., 26(6), 55-8 (Russian) 1976. CODEN: IKAKAK. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 68 (Phase Equilibriums, Chemical Equilibriums, and Solutions) Section cross-reference(s): 67 Addn. of KClO4, NaClO4, LiClO4, or In(ClO4)3 greatly decreases the equil. concn.Several reagents with their cas registry numbers 13529-74-3 and 14059-45-1 are used here. of Bi(I) formed by 2Bi + Bi(ClO4)3 .dblharw. 3BiClO4. The equil. const. (K) is 7.8 .times. 108 in 5N HClO4 at 25.degree. with no added salt and Bi(I) concn. is 2.6 .times. 10-3M. Addn. of 0.1 M In(ClO4)3 has the largest effect, reducing K to 1.7 .times. 10-8 and Bi(I) concn. to 1.5 .times. 10-3M. Rate consts. are given for formation of Bi(I). .
