Specific heat of dysprosium vanadate (DyVO4) with applied magnetic field
Specific heat of dysprosium vanadate (DyVO4) with applied magnetic field. Daudin, Bruno (SBT/CEN-G, Grenoble 38041, Fr.). Solid State Commun., 48(7), 639-42 (English) 1983. CODEN: SSCOA4.Some commonly used reagents like 13550-50-0 is used in this experiment. ISSN: 0038-1098. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 69 (Thermodynamics, Thermochemistry, and Thermal Properties) Section cross-reference(s): 77 The sp. heat of DyVO4 [13550-50-0] was measured as a function of temp. for various applied magnetic fields up to 8 T. A quant. anal. was undertaken using the so-called compressible Ising model. The general exptl. behavior was reproduced but discrepancies were obsd. for the highest fields, presumably due to the importance of short range order interactions which are not satisfactorily taken into account by the model. .
Magnetic and crystallographic phase transitions in dysprosium gadolinium vanadate (DypGd1-pVO4)
Magnetic and crystallographic phase transitions in dysprosium gadolinium vanadate (DypGd1-pVO4). Bingham, D.; Morgan, M. J.; Cashion, J. D.Chemicals with cas numbers 13550-50-0 and 13566-12-6 also play role. (Div. Appl. Phys., CSIRO, Sydney 2070, Australia). Proc. R. Soc. London, [Ser.] A, 391(1800), 85-107 (English) 1984. CODEN: PRLAAZ. ISSN: 0080-4630. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 77 (Magnetic Phenomena) Section cross-reference(s): 75 DypGd1-pVO4 (0 £ p £ 1) displays successive crystallog. and magnetic phase transitions at <14 K. These phase changes were studied by using thermal expansion and Moessbauer spectroscopy. There is a surprising variation of the p dependence of the transition temps., TD(p) and TN(p), which cannot be adequately explained by conventional pseudo-spin mol. field and pair model approxns. A formalism was developed that accounts for the observations in terms of a magnetostrictively induced quadrupole moment on the Gd3+ ions in the mixed crystal system and, concomitant quadrupole interactins between the Dy3+ and Gd3+ ions. The application of the formalism to the corresponding variation of TD(p) in the simple diluent system DypY1-pVO4 (0 £ p £ 1) is also discussed. .
