Dielectric anomaly and improper antiferroelectricity at the Jahn-Teller transitions in rare-earth vanadates
Dielectric anomaly and improper antiferroelectricity at the Jahn-Teller transitions in rare-earth vanadates. Unoki, H.; Sakudo, T.In this study, 13566-09-1 and 13550-50-0 are also used. (Electrotech. Lab., Tokyo, Japan). Phys. Rev. Lett., 38(3), 137-40 (English) 1977. CODEN: PRLTAO. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 76 (Electric Phenomena) Dielec. measurements have been carried out on the single crystals of DyVO4, TbVO4, and TmVO4 through the Jahn-Teller transition temps. An anomalous increase of the dielec. susceptibility with temp. along the c axis was obsd. for DyVO4, but not for TbVO4 and TmVO4. This behavior is explained as due to the antiferroelectricity driven by the soft N1g strain through the sublattice piezoelectricity. .
Pulsed magnetic field synchrotron X-ray powder diffraction of the Jahn-Teller distortion in TbVO4
All Rights Reserved. Pulsed magnetic field synchrotron X-ray powder diffraction of the Jahn-Teller distortion in TbVO4. Vanacken, J.; Frings, P.; Detlefs, C.; Duc, F.; Lorenzo, J. E.; Nardone, M.; Billette, J.; Zitouni, A.; Bras, W.; Rikken, G. (Laboratoire National des Champs Magnetiques Pulses, CNRS-INSA-UPS 143, Toulouse F31432, Fr.In this article, certain chemicals are used. One of their cas registry numbers is 13566-09-1 ). Journal of Physics: Conference Series, 51, 475-482 (English) 2006 Institute of Physics Publishing. URL: http://ej.iop.org/links/rTR3OGg9N/jqo-gvaR2xGeJrvEav5vpA/jpconf6_5 1_109.pdf. CODEN: JPCSDZ. ISSN: 1742-6588. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal; (online computer file) CA Section: 75 (Crystallography and Liquid Crystals) Section cross-reference(s): 77 X-ray powder diffraction expts. under pulsed magnetic fields were carried out at the DUBBLE beam line at the ESRF. A mobile generator delivered 110 kJ to the load coil, which was sufficient to generate peak fields of 30 T. A liq. He flow cryostat allowed us to vary the sample temp. accurately between 8-300 K. Powder diffraction patterns of TbVO4 were recorded in a broad temp. range using 21 keV monochromatic x-rays and an online image plate detector. We present results on the suppression of the Jahn-Teller structural distortion in TbVO4 by the magnetic field. .
