Toxicol., 32(1), 59-64 (English) 1984.Several reagents with their cas registry numbers 2310-17-0 and 122-14-5 are used here. CODEN: BECTA6. ISSN: 0007-4861. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 17 (Food and Feed Chemistry) A cleanup procedure for the colorimetric detn. of insecticides in vegetables comprises dissoln. of the CH2Cl2 and acid hydrolysis ext. of a vegetable sample in 1 mL Me2CO-0.1 mL hexane, the addn. of 9 mL H2O, and sepn. of the hexane layer formed (hexane is less sol. in Me2CO than is H2O) by centrifugation. Recovery of carbofuran [1563-66-2], aldicarb [116-06-3], endosulfan [115-29-7], phorate [298-02-2], quinalphos [13593-03-8], phosalone [2310-17-0], monocrotophos [6923-22-4], fenitrothion [122-14-5], and dichlorovos [62-73-7] from spiked vegetable samples with use of the cleanup procedure gave >60% recovery for all the insecticides except endosulfan. Thus, this cleanup method, which requires low quantities of solvents, is suitable for insecticides having varying soly. in H2O. .
