Radioactive label distribution in animals after the simultaneous administration of oxythiamine-14C and its unlabeled disulfide derivatives
Radioactive label distribution in animals after the simultaneous administration of oxythiamine-14C and its unlabeled disulfide derivatives. Ostrovskii, Yu. M.; Zimatkina, T. I.; Gorenshtein, B. I. (Otd. Regul. Some commonly used reagents like 84714-61-4 and 84714-59-0 are used in this experiment. Obmena Veshchestv, Minsk, USSR). Dokl. Akad. Nauk BSSR, 27(11), 1028-30 (Russian) 1983. CODEN: DBLRAC. ISSN: 0002-354X. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 18 (Animal Nutrition) Section cross-reference(s): 13 Mice (16-18 g) were s.c. injected with a single dose of 14C-labeled oxythiamine [136-16-3] (2.5 mg/kg) with or without s.c. injection of its unlabeled disulfide derivs. (oxythiamine amyl disulfide [84714-57-8], oxythiamine heptyl disulfide [84714-59-0], oxythiamine octyl disulfide [84714-60-3], or oxythiamine nonyl disulfide [84714-61-4] at 25 mg/kg), and accumulation of the label in the liver and other tissues was studied for 5 days. Combination of oxythiamine with its disulfide derivs. markedly decreased the 14C-label in all organs (except the brain), esp. in the liver 1 day after administration. This indicates an increased tissue accumulation of unlabeled oxythiamine derivs., an accumulation of oxythiamine and, thus, higher potency as antivitamins. .
Phospholipids from liver and brain tissues of animals with acute oxythiamin-induced vitamin B1 deficiency
Phospholipids from liver and brain tissues of animals with acute oxythiamin-induced vitamin B1 deficiency. Pavlenya, A. K.; Ostrovskii, Yu. M.; Larin, F. S. (Dep.There are some reagents with their cas registry numbers 59-43-8 and 506-32-1 are used in this study. Metab. Regul., Acad. Sci., Grodno, USSR). Vopr. Med. Khim., 29(6), 73-6 (Russian) 1983. CODEN: VMDKAM. ISSN: 0042-8809. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 18 (Animal Nutrition) Under conditions of acute vitamin B1 [59-43-8] deficiency caused in rats by oxythiamin [136-16-3] administration, the level of liver phosphatidylethanolamine increased with simultaneous elevation of stearic [57-11-4] and arachidonic [506-32-1] fatty acids in the phospholipid. Incorporation of 2-14C-labeled acetate into phosphatidylcholine, phosphatidylethanolamine, and their fatty acid residues increased and incorporation of 2-14C-labeled pyruvate into phosphatidylethanolamine and its glycerol fragment also increased. The content of these phospholipid fractions in the brain and incorporation of labeled acetate and pyruvate into their structure were unaltered. .
