DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 11 (Plant Biochemistry) To study the saponins from the buds of Lonicera confusa DC., and to est. the quality of "Flos Lonicera" (Jinyinhua, in Chinese), the n-BuOH fraction from EtOH ext. of Lonicera confusa was studied. Chromatog. and spectral anal. were used to isolate and elucidate the constituents. Seven triterpenoidal saponins having hederagenin as aglycons were isolated from the dried buds of L. confusa, and identified as: hederagenin-28-O-b-D-glucopyranosyl(6?1)-O-b-D-glucopyranosyl ester (I), hederagenin-3-O-a-L-arabinopyranosyl(2?1)-O-a-L-rhamnopyranoside , hederagenin-3-O-a-L-arabinopyranosyl(2?1)-O-a-L-rhamnopyranosyl-( 3?1)-O-b-D-glucopyranoside (macranthoside A) (II), hederagenin-3-O-a-L-arabinopyranosyl(2?1)-O-a-L-rhamnopyranosyl-( 3?1)-O-b-D-glucopyranosyl(4?1)-O-b-D-glucopyranoside (macranthoside B) (III), 3-O-a-L-arabinopyranosyl-(2?1)-O-a-L-rhamnopyranosyl-hederagenin- 28-O-b-D-glucopyranosyl(6?1)-O-b-D-glucopyranosyl ester (dipsacoside B), 3-O-a-L-arabinopyranosyl-(2?1)-O-a-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(3?1)-O-b-D- glucopyranosyl-hederagenin-28-O-b-D-glucopyranosyl(6?1)-O-b-D-gluc opyranosyl ester (macranthoidin A) and 3-O-a-L-arabinopyranosyl-(2?1)-O-a-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(3?1)-b-D-gl ucopyranosyl-(4?1)-O-b-D-glucopyranosyl-hederagenin-28-O-b-D-gluc opyranosyl (6?1)-O-b-D-glucopyranosyl ester (macranthoidin B). Saponin I-III were isolated from the genus for the first time.In this experiment, several chemicals are used like 136849-88-2 .
