DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 5 (Agrochemicals) When tested against the pathogen of the bacterial blight of cotton, X. malvacearum, busan [137-41-7], streptomycin sulfate [3810-74-0], and streptocycline [8069-81-6] were inhibitory at 2.5 ppm. Other antibiotics, like terramycin [79-57-2] and achromycin [60-54-8] inhibited the growth of X. malvacearum at 50 ppm while aureomycin [57-62-5] and agrimycin [57-92-1] were effective at 25 ppm. Hg compds. were inhibitory at 5-25 ppm. Cu compds. were inhibitory at 100 ppm and org. S compds. were less potent. Certain systemic fungicides, such as carboxin [5234-68-4] and oxycarboxin [5259-88-1], and insecticides, such as nuvacron [6923-22-4], rogor [60-51-5], basudin [333-41-5], and dimecron [13171-21-6] were effective in the 100-2,000 ppm range. .
