Thus, 5000 kg waste water contg. 4500 ppm (as total F), HBF4 [16872-11-0], Sn(BF4)2 [13814-97-6], and Pb(BF4)2 was mixed with 200 kg Al(OH)3, stirred at 85-90.degree. for 30 min, mixed with milk of lime to adjust the pH at 11, mixed with 15 ppm polyacrylamide flocculant, and filtered. The residual F concn. in the filtrate was 12 ppm.

Thus, 100 g Epirez 510 [25068-38-6] and 1 g stannous tetrafluoroborate [13814-97-6] were mixed to give a resin with pot life 2 min at 70°F and gel time 2 min at 120°F. The resin cured exothermically to give a tough, hard resin only slightly darker than the original resin. The resins could be foamed in the conventional manner with a foaming agent and surfactant, and fire retardants could be added to give self-extinguishing compns.
