Standard enthalpy of formation of crystalline chrome potash alum [KCr(SO4)2
Standard enthalpy of formation of crystalline chrome potash alum [KCr(SO4)2.12H2O] and chromium(3+) ion in an aqueous solution. Vasil'ev, V. P.; Vasil'eva, V. N.; Raskova, O. G. (Ivanov. Khim.-Tekhnol. Inst., Ivanovo, USSR). Zh. Neorg. Khim., 23(4), 987-93 (Russian) 1978. CODEN: ZNOKAQ. ISSN: 0044-457X. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 69 (Thermodynamics, Thermochemistry, and Thermal Properties) The heat of reaction, DH, of KCr(SO4)2.12H2O [7788-99-0] and NaBrO [13824-96-9] in NaOH solns. was detd. at 25° by calorimetry. From DH data, the calcd. std. heat of formation, DHf°, of KCr(SO4)2.12H2O is -1383.79 ± 0.50 kcal/mol. The heat of soln. of KCr(SO4)2.12H2O in 0.5 - 1.5N HClO4 at 25° was also detd. The DHf° value of Cr3+ in aq is -60.72 ± 0.21 kcal/mol.
Automatic analyzer for silica in geothermal water
Automatic analyzer for silica in geothermal water. Kawazoe, Sanae; Hayashi, Yukio; Yamashita, Yutaka; Tanio, Yoshinori; Hirakawa, Ryuzo; Tawara, Mamoru (Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd., Japan). Jpn. Kokai Tokkyo Koho JP 61059244 A2 26 Mar 1986 Showa, 6 pp. (Japan) CODEN: JKXXAF. CLASS: ICM: G01N021-75. APPLICATION: JP 84-180728 31 Aug 1984. DOCUMENT TYPE: Patent CA Section: 79 (Inorganic Analytical Chemistry) Section cross-reference(s): 52, 61 The title device consists of a gas-liq. sepn. means, a particle sepn. Some commonly used reagents like 13824-96-9 and 7732-18-5 are used in this experiment. means, a reaction vessel, a reagent supplying means, and a colorimeter. The geothermal water sample is treated to remove gases (CO2 + H2S) which interfere with the Si detn. Then the sample is treated to sep. any particles (such as rust from corrosion of pipe/instruments, salt, and sand). The clear sample is then reacted with reagents such as H2SO4, or HCl for adjusting the pH, an oxidizing agent (e.g. KBrO3), a color reagent (e.g., ammonium molybdate), a reducing agent (e.g., 1-amino-2-naphthol-4-sulfonic acid), and a masking agent (e.g., tartaric acid). The sol. Si in the sample is detd. by measuring the color of the soln. using a photoelec. colorimeter. This device minimizes the amt. of dissolved gas in the sample and the clogging and dirt of the pipe and anal. instruments. .
