DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 62 (Essential Oils and Cosmetics) Gas-liq. chromatog. revealed the presence of 33 components in the essential oil obtained from the flowers, leaves, fruit, and rhizomes of C. hirsutum. Sixteen components were identified, the main constituents being fenchyl acetate [13851-11-1] (approx. 50%), eugenol [97-53-0] (2.8-22.5%), and 1,8-cineole [470-82-6] (3.9-21.In this experiment, several chemicals are used like 97-53-0 and 470-82-6 0%). Differences in the compn. of the oil derived from different parts of the plant are discussed. .

DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 62 (Essential Oils and Cosmetics) Forty-seven new constituents of olibanum resin and oil were identified. Selina-5,7(11)-diene (I) [96850-27-0] and p-mentha-1,4-dien-8-ol (II) [13851-11-1] were isolated for the 1st time from a natural source. A high content of fragrant unsatd. mono- and sesquiterpene alcs. was detected. The volatile parts which contribute to the fragrance of olibanum resin were composed of 2 fractions: an acidic fraction, composed of monoterpene and fatty acids, and a neutral fraction which contained volatile neutral components, representing 17% of the resinoid. .
