- Scaling inhibitors for steel hot-rolling
- Scaling inhibitors for steel hot-rolling. (Nippon Steel Corp., Japan). Jpn. Kokai Tokkyo Koho JP 58167720 A2 4 Oct 1983 Showa, 5 pp. (Japanese). (Japan). CODEN: JKXXAF. CLASS: IC: C21D001-68. ICA: B21B045-00. APPLICATION: JP 82-48955 29 Mar 1982. DOCUMENT TYPE: Patent CA Section: 55 (Ferrous Metals and Alloys) The inhibitors are aq. slurries of water, 1-30 parts of Na2O×3SiO2 or Na2O×3SiO2 99.01-90.91 and Al and/or glass powder 0.Several substances with their cas registry numbers 13870-30-9 and 1303-86-2 may be metioned in this study.990-9.09 wt.%, and 100 parts of alk. earth metal compds. When the inhibitors are sprayed on a steel at high temp., their concn. and adhesion increases, and they show improved scale-inhibiting properties. Thus, a scale inhibitor composed of CaCO3 20, Na2O×3SiO2 2, and H2O 78 wt.% was sprayed on a descaled steel immediately after hot rolling, and the coiled steel (2 mm thick) showed adhesion efficiency 14.2% of the inhibitor and improved pickling properties. .
- Redeposition of carbon black onto hydrophilic and/or hydrophobic fibers
- Redeposition of carbon black onto hydrophilic and/or hydrophobic fibers. Ogino, Keizo; Miyazaki, Taichi; Abe, Masahiko (Fac. Sci. Technol., Sci. Univ.Chemicals with cas numbers 9004-32-4 and 13870-30-9 also play role. Tokyo, Noda 278, Japan). Shikizai Kyokaishi, 60(3), 153-9 (Japanese) 1987. CODEN: SKYOAO. ISSN: 0371-0777. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 46 (Surface Active Agents and Detergents) Section cross-reference(s): 40 The redeposition of carbon black onto hydrophilic fiber (cotton) and/or hydrophobic fiber (nylon) was studied in aq. solns. of detergents; such as Na dodecyl sulfate (I) [151-21-3], Na silicate, Na2CO3 CMC [9004-32-4], and Na2 SO4. The degrees of redeposition of carbon black onto both cotton and nylon fibers were very small in aq. I or CMC solns. because of z-potential values of carbon black or fibers due to the deposition of I or CMC onto them, and of structural effect I or CMC. On the other hand, in various builders solns., the redeposition of carbon black onto each fiber was dependent on their concn. Moreover, the redeposition of carbon black was dependent on the thickness of the elec. double layer, and on both VT,max of carbon black/fiber, and of carbon blacks in those aq. solns. It is considered that increasing of the thickness of elec. double layer and of VT,max between carbon blacks (and/or between carbon black and fiber) may play an important role in deposition of carbon black onto fibers. .
