Thus, a compn. contained a mixt. of erythromycin thiocyanate [7704-67-8] 200 mg (corresponding to the base), and lysozyme-HCl [9066-59-5] 30 mg, polymyxin B sulfate [1405-20-5] 50,000 IV, and pH 6.8 buffer q.s.p. to 100 mL. The compn. may be used for the treatment of infections from both gram pos. and gram neg. bacteria. The effectiveness of the compn. was demonstrated in the treatment of infection in cows. The animals tolerated the compn. well. .
