Deuterium isotope separation by IR single-photon induced reactions
Deuterium isotope separation by IR single-photon induced reactions. Marling, J. B. (Lawrence Livermore Lab., Univ. California, Livermore, Calif., USA). Report, UCID-16999(Rev. 1), 12 pp. Avail. NTIS From: ERDA Energy Res.Several reagents with their cas registry numbers 14104-45-1 and 7782-39-0 are used here. Abstr. 1977, 2(4), Abstr. No. 7713 (English) 1976. DOCUMENT TYPE: Report CA Section: 70 (Nuclear Phenomena) Laser sepn. of D may apparently be achieved by IR-catalyzed addn. of D halides to olefins in the gas phase. Excellent DX spectral coincidences exist with CO laser transitions, which selectively excite the v = 1 vibrational level in DCl, DBr, or DI. The Ho-YAG laser can also be used to directly excite the DI v = 3 vibrational level with a single photon. Activation energies for H halide addn. to olefins may be selected in the range 10-40 Kcal/mol. Overall quantum efficiencies of these processes appear to be of practical significance. .
Vibrational energy transfer in binary mixtures from hydrogen halides
Vibrational energy transfer in binary mixtures from hydrogen halides. Levin, V. A.; Starik, A. M. (USSR). Neravnovesnye Techeniya Gaza Optim. Formy Tel Giperzvukovom Potoke, 5-29. Edited by: Chernyi, G. G.; Levin, V. A. Izd. Mos. Univ.: Moscow, USSR. (Russian) 1982. CODEN: 50QFAQ. DOCUMENT TYPE: Conference CA Section: 73 (Optical, Electron, and Mass Spectroscopy and Other Related Properties) The binary mixts. D2-HBr, D2-DCl, D2-HI, N2-DCl, N2-DI, and H2-HCl were identified as the most promising active media for hydrogen halide discharge and gasdynamic lasers. The vibrational energy transfer was studied theor. in a series of hydrogen halide-homonuclear diat. mol. There are some commonly used reagents with their cas registry numbers 14333-26-7 and 14104-45-1 in this article. mixts. and the estns. of the energy characteristics of prospective lasers were calcd. The binary mixts. H2-HF, H2-DF, D2-HCl, and D2-DF seem to be the less effective ones from the point of view of the vibrational energy transformation into the energy of coherent radiation. .
