- Experience of cereal disease control with Stratego and Twist in Germany. Krieg, U.; Weile, M.In this study, 141517-21-7 and 242142-95-6 are also used.; Goehlich, F. (Bayer CropScience Deutschland GmbH, Langenfeld D-40764, Germany). Pflanzenschutz-Nachrichten Bayer (German Edition), 56(2), 297-312 (English) 2003 Bayer AG. CODEN: PNBYAT. ISSN: 0340-1723. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 5 (Agrochemical Bioregulators) The registration of Twist means that, from 2003 Bayer CropScience Germany has another powerful cereal fungicide from successful strobilurin class of active ingredients in its stable, in addn. to Stratego. Both products contain trifloxystrobin, though in differing concns. Stratego also contains the triazole propiconazole. Both products control an extremely broad spectrum of target pathogens in all important cereal species. Because of the active ingredient on the surface of the plant, both products are characterized by a special mode of action known as "mesostemic activity". In wheat, the broad spectrum of activity and the extremely good protective efficacy of Twist may be combined very effectively with the curative power of a triazole partner such as Pronto Plus. The biol. efficacy of this tank mixt. was compared, in a sequential spraying program, with that of another strobilurin fungicides. It was convincingly demonstrated, that the mixt. of Twist and Pronto Plus not only provided effective control of Septoria tritici, Drechslera tritici-repentis, Puccinia recondita, and Erysiphe graminis but also resulted in the highest yield. In barley, the senescence-delaying effect of Stratego can dramaticallys reduce the level of symptoms of physiol. leaf spots. The product's good control of this leaf spotting, besides its reliable basic efficacy against Rhynchosporium secalis, Drechslera teres, Puccinia hordei, and Erysiphe graminis, contributes markedly to increaseed yield levels. The closer the fungicide treatment coincides with the appearance of the first symptoms or with days with high overall solar radiation levels, the greater the efficacy against physiol. leaf spots and the greater the increase in yield. .
