DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 29 (Organometallic and Organometalloidal Compounds) Section cross-reference(s): 75 Substitution of the cyclic dioxycarbene complex Re(CO)4Br(:CR2) (I; R2 = OCH2CH2O) with PPh3 initially gives fac-Re(CO)3(PPh3)Br(:CR2), which further reacts with PPh3 to give 90% Re(CO)2(PPh3)2Br(:CR2). Reaction of I with Ph2P(CH2)nPPh2 (n = 1, 2) gives the diphosphine-bridged complexes [Re(CO)3Br(:CR2)]PPh2(CH2)nPPh2[Re(CO)3Br(:CR2)] (II). The crystal structures of I and II (n = 2) are reported. I reacts with Me2NCS2- to remove in effect ethylene oxide from the carbene ligand to give Re(CO)5Br and HOCH2CH2SC(S)NMe2. .
