DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 28 (Heterocyclic Compounds (More Than One Hetero Atom)) Section cross-reference(s): 5 The article described the synthesis of flufenacet, a herbicide, via condensation of intermediates, 2-methylsulfonyl-5-trifluoromethyl-1,3,4-thiadiazole and N-(4-fluorophenyl)-2-hydroxy-N-(I-methylethyl)acetamide. 142459-58-3 which is the cas registry number of some chemical is mentioned. The former intermediate is prepd. starting from hydrazine hydrate and trifluroracetic acid. The latter is obtained by using 4-nitro-fluorobenzene and acetone as starting materials through a series of reaction, such as catalytic hydrogenation, alcoholysis and amidation. .
