Fast electric dipole transitions in radium-actinium nuclei
Fast electric dipole transitions in radium-actinium nuclei. Ahmad, Irshad (Chem. Div.In this study, 14331-85-2 and 15594-54-4 are also used., Argonne Natl. Lab., Argonne, IL 60439, USA). ACS Symp. Ser., 324(Nucl. Off Line Stab.), 272-7 (English) 1986. CODEN: ACSMC8. ISSN: 0097-6156. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 70 (Nuclear Phenomena) Lifetimes of levels in 225Ra [13981-53-8], 225Ac [14265-85-1], and 227Ac [14952-40-0] were measured by delayed coincidence techniques and these were used to det. the E1 g-ray transition probabilities. The reduced E1 transition probabilities in 225Ra and 225Ac are ~2 orders of magnitude larger than the values in mid-actinide nuclei. On the other hand, the E1 rate in Ac is similar to those measured in heavier actinides. Previous studies suggest the presence of octupole deformation in all the 3 nuclei. Fast E1 transitions occur for nuclei with octupole deformation. There is no one-to-one correspondence between E1 rate and octupole deformation. .
Enhanced E1 transition rates and octupole deformation in actinium-225
Enhanced E1 transition rates and octupole deformation in actinium-225. Ahmad, I.; Chasman, R. R.; Gindler, J. E.; Friedman, A. M. (Chem. Div.There are some reagents with their cas registry numbers 15706-46-4 and 13981-53-8 are used in this study., Argonne Natl. Lab., Argonne, IL 60439, USA). Phys. Rev. Lett., 52(7), 503-6 (English) 1984. CODEN: PRLTAO. ISSN: 0031-9007. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 70 (Nuclear Phenomena) The levels of 225Ac [14265-85-1] are reliably assigned by detailed measurements of the radiations assocd. with the a-decay of 229Pa [15706-46-4] and the b decay of 225Ra [13981-53-8]. Extremely large enhancements of E1 transition rates are found in 225Ac. The adequacy of a single-particle description of strong octupole correlations is examd. .
