Tablets were prepd., each contg. K DL-aspartate [14434-35-6] 350.00, Mg DL-aspartate [18962-61-3] 350.0, poly(vinylpyrrolidone) VA 64 10.0, I 2.0, Sta-Rx 1500 77.6, Mg stearate 4.0, talc 64, and glyceryl trilaurate [538-24-9] stored at 0-5°, 25°, 35°, 45° and 55° in closed brown bottles. Samples were withdrawn after 8, 15, 30, 60, 90, 180 and 360 days and analyzed by HPLC. All the formulations were stable over 12 mo. Excess moisture in the tablets reacts with b-acetyldigoxin resulting in a spontaneous isomerization. Addn. of glycerin monolaurate and Labrafil M 2130 CS did not result in any significant increase in drug release. The release of I from tablets contg. glyceryl trilaurate was 33-52% after 1 h.
