- Isobaric analog resonances in the 82Se + p system investigated by (p,p'.gamma.) angular correlations and low-lying states in selenium-83. Takeuchi, S.; Toba, Y.; Sakaguchi, H. (Fac. Sci., Kyoto Univ., Kyoto, Japan). Nucl. Phys. A, A288(2), 251-68 (English) 1977. CODEN: NUPABL. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 70 (Nuclear Phenomena) Low-lying states in 83Se [14687-60-6] were studied through p-induced isobaric analog resonance (IAR) reactions. Excitation functions for elastic and inelastic p scattering were measured in the bombarding energy range 4.5-7.7 MeV. Angular distributions of p inelastic scattering cross sections for the reaction 82Se(p,p')82Se(0.655 MeV 2+) and angular correlations of the inelastic p and the assocd. 2+-0+ deexcitation .gamma.-rays were measured on obsd. resonance peaks. In the anal. for the inelastic scattering, direct reaction contributions to the IAR were taken into account. Correlations between the low-lying states in 83Se and the excited 2+ core state are discussed.

- Mass distribution in the fission of thorium-232 by degraded-fission-spectrum neutrons. Richardson, Albert E.; Wright, Harold L.; Meason, John L.; Smith, James R. (Dep. Chem., New Mexico State Univ., Las Cruces, NM 88003, USA).Several reagents with their cas registry numbers 15816-89-4 and 14331-88-5 are used here. Nucl. Sci. Eng., 94(4), 413-25 (English) 1986. CODEN: NSENAO. ISSN: 0029-5639. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 70 (Nuclear Phenomena) The mass-yield distribution of fission products following degraded-fission-spectrum n-induced fission of 232Th was measured by g spectrometry for 2k mass chains including mass 138 for the 1st time for fast fission. Cumulative yields for 83gSe [14687-60-6] and 130gSb [15756-35-1] were obsd., the latter also for the 1st time for fast fission. In general, the yields for degraded-fission-spectrum n-induced fission of 232Th were slightly higher in the inner portions of both the heavy and light mass wings than for those from reactor-n-induced fission of 232Th. This was expected, since the av. energy of degraded-fission-spectrum n is slightly above that of reactor n. .
