The extent of grafting increases with increasing time, increasing concn. of monomer and catalysts, and increasing temp.; however, above 40.degree. there is also homopolymn. The phys. properties and dyeability are not greatly affected by the grafting. Electron microscopy of the fiber surface shows that the lamellar structure is retained after grafting, and the added polymer is located within the fiber.
