DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 11 (Plant Biochemistry) In comparative investigations of leaf disks of the title plants cytokinins (benzyladenine) caused an increase in nitrate reductase activity of both species independent of the presence of nitrate-N or light. A simultaneous application of NO3- and cytokinins resulted in additive effects on enzyme activity. The time course of the changes in nitrate reductase activity are comparable to the induction kinetics of this enzyme as presented in the literature.
