Thus, SWRH62A [12743-67-8] steel wire of diam 7.0 mm was cooled from 900.degree. in zircon [14940-68-2] sand of av. particle size 150-mesh fluidized by air at 150.degree. and 12 cm/s, being screened through an 80-mesh sieve to keep the particle content 20%. The tensile strength was 107.5 kg/mm2 vs. 99.5 kg/mm2 without screening (particle content 80%).
