Yield was increased by 3.1 and 2.4%, and the content of high-quality tobacco from 65.3 to 68.1 and 67.0%, resp. Nicotine [54-11-5] increased from 1.05 to 1.11 and 1.07 dry wt.%, resp. Glucose [50-99-7] and total monosaccharides, Mg, Na, K, P, alky., and the sugar/protein ratio increased in harvested leaves, whereas Cl-, hemicellulose [9034-32-6], total protein, total and protein-N, Ca, and the Cl-/K ratio decreased. Only KANU decreased starch [9005-25-8] and cellulose [9004-34-6] and increased total ash. The increased alky., Na, and K of tobacco improved combustion and the color of ash. .
