Thus, bisphenol A and bisphenol A diglycidyl ether were mixed in a preset ratio to give a copolymer [25036-25-3] with 8.0% theor. epoxide. Then 0.3% ethyltriphenylphosphonium acetate-acetic acid complex [50602-83-0] was added, and the system was heated to 150°, at which time the temp. was allowed to exotherm to 170°. After 1-2 h the reaction was finished and the product contained 7.3% epoxide. The P content analyzed 69.4% as cation and 30.6% as PH3O. .
