Seven compds. with close Rf's, namely hexachlorophene [70-30-4], bromochlorophene [15435-29-7], bithionol [97-18-7], dichloro-m-xylene [27708-36-7] triclosan [1319-77-3], tribromsalan [87-10-5], and fluorophene [4776-06-1] were confirmed from an ext. contg. 100 .mu.g of the active ingredient. Thin layer chromatog. cleanup procedure was successfully adapted for the measuring of hexachlorophene. Phenols and halogenated phenols were detd. by gas chromatog. after flash silylation, from a soln. contg. 50-100 .mu.g of the compd. .
