Exptl. tests were performed on 3 sample solns. at a P concn. of 250, 500 and 750 mg/L. In each soln. an equal amt. 15475-67-9 and 7723-14-0 are cas registry numbers of chemicals which are used as reagents here. of Na phosphite and Na hypophosphite was dissolved. The study of pH, temp. and reagents ratio on the oxidn. rate led to the individuation of the optimal process operating conditions. The results show that Fenton's reagent provides a powerful conversion to phosphate of the P soln. In particular at pH 3.5 and 20° a residual concn. of non-oxidized P in compliance with the Italian regulation limits for industrial wastewater disposal. Tests performed on sample soln. of 500 and 750 mg P/L by adding H2O2 and divalent Fe in 3 sequential steps led to similar reaction efficiencies to tests carried out adding both Fenton's reagents in one step, but with a remarkably lower reagents consumption. .
